World Championship Fundraising

Help us realise our dreams!

On 28th March, 9 dancers from the Scoil Ard Rince School of Irish Dance in Brisbane QLD will be heading to the 2015 World Championships in Montreal. This group of dancers, some of whom won the Australian National Championships in October, will be competing together in the teams event. The girls, ranging in age from 12 to 24, will also compete in the solo competitions representing their State as well as Australia.

Along with all the hard work the dancers are putting in, we realise that funds are needed to do such a trip. All families have gathered together to organise events and fundraising ideas to help these children live their dream of representing Australia at the World Championships. I hope that together with your help, we can make this dream come true for these wonderful dancers.

Success for Scoil Ard Rince at the 2011 Irish Dancing World Championships

All of the hard work and determination has paid off for the Scoil Ard Rince dancers who competed at the 2011 Irish Dancing World Championships in Dublin last week.

All dancers performed very well in outstanding levels of competition but huge congrats must go to Chloe Peirce and Celia Shawcross who made it into the recall rounds and placed so highly; Chloe recalled and placed 38th out of 168 in the 13-14 years and Celia placed 25th out of 93 in the 19-20 years. Declan Carr, Ellen Rafferty, Roisin Rafferty, Molly Rafferty and Katie Maloney also danced superbly, with over 150 competitors in each section!

Getting to qualify to the World Championships is in itself an honour and to bring home some medals is absolutely amazing – well done guys!

Chloe also had the honour of meeting the Irish President at the opening ceremony and had her photo taken with the president along with representative dancers from other countries.

Check out the pics in the gallery and see some of the girls’ beautiful new dresses!
